-The megamouth shark was discovered in the 1970s. It was caught in the cables of a US navy ship in Hawaii. 

-This the third largest shark in the world. 

-This shark is not very strong sue to its lack of muscle. This makes the shark a very slow swimmer. 

 -They swim with their mouth open through plankton and draw them in with a suction like effect.

Most commonly at depths of about 1,800 feet but they have been founded at almost 5,000 feet.  -Thresher sharks can reach speeds of 22 miles per hour. In comparison one of the oceans strongest predator's, a great white shark reaches speeds of 15 miles per hour.  -These sharks have the ability to breach, just like a whale. It is unclear why they do this but it is spectacular.
