-There are nine species of hammerhead sharks in the world. Some researchers believe that there are more. 

-The head of this shark is called the cephalofoil. This gives the shark better vision and depth perception, which makes them great hunters. 

-Hammerheads love to eat sting rays and because of this have evolved to be unaffected by a sting.

-Females can reproduce pups without a male ever being present.

Most commonly at depths of about 1,800 feet but they have been founded at almost 5,000 feet.  -Thresher sharks can reach speeds of 22 miles per hour. In comparison one of the oceans strongest predator's, a great white shark reaches speeds of 15 miles per hour.  -These sharks have the ability to breach, just like a whale. It is unclear why they do this but it is spectacular.
