-Whale sharks are NOT whales. They got their name from their size and diet. 

-These sharks travel about three miles per hour. This is slow in comparison to other sharks. But they swim very long distances. 

-When whale sharks feed they take in a big gulp of water and filter the things it wants to eat; and expels the ocean water. This means that some whale sharks process 6,000 liter of water a day. 

-Whale sharks have 3,000 tiny teeth but do not chew their food.

Their lower side glows because they have lots of little photophores. Researchers have found they continue to glow for about three hours after their death. -Cookie cutter sharks have large prey. They are known to feed on dolphins, whales, and seals.  -Cookie cutter sharks are found swimming at around 1,000 but have been seen over two miles deep.
