-Thresher sharks are known for their extremely long tail. They use their long tail as a tool for hunting prey. The shark will find a school of fish and whip its tail which causes waves under water making it impossible for the fish to move out of danger fast enough. 

-Mature thresher sharks spend a majority of their time very deep in the ocean. Most commonly at depths of about 1,800 feet but they have been founded at almost 5,000 feet. 

-Thresher sharks can reach speeds of 22 miles per hour. In comparison one of the oceans strongest predator's, a great white shark reaches speeds of 15 miles per hour. 

-These sharks have the ability to breach, just like a whale. It is unclear why they do this but it is spectacular.
